Whats..2 Ply Cotton or 3 or more Ply..?
U have seen it... touch it.. heard it .. or even wore it..
Whats exactly is fabric or cotton shirts that are single ply ... 2 ply ..3 or 4 ply..?
Do u exactly know whats the different.. beside being heavier or thicker ......
Well I am curious to know more about it hence I am doing kind of research about it.. by asking sales person of leading sales boutique.. In the end, everyone seems unclear about wats the real diff.... the answers they gave was .. more durable.. keep warm.. etc

In short 2 or more ply refers to cotton, thread or fiber materials ( Lets name this X) being twisted together and sew together..
Back to basic.. which I read form Textile Research Journal and wikipedia..
Ply are form by twisting the direction in which the X is spun is called twist. X are characterized as Z-twist or S-twist according to the direction of spinning (see diagram).
Tightness of twist is being use for strength.. ..imagine holding hands with yr steady bf gf..the strength of holding depends on the tightness of gripping and force in holding..
So what is 2 ply or more ply??
Well, basically is more X being twisted together.. or say... u plus yr gf hands and another 3rd party holding hands together... thats make what is call 3 ply Get it..? I might be wrong cos i rely on internet source..
This method is often used to keep colors together on singles dyed in sequential colors. That means more lasting colours as well.. compare to single ply...
